Fanfani Relay: A Day of Sports, Connection, and Inspiration in Florence

On Saturday, November 23rd, I had the pleasure of participating in the Fanfani Relay Race in Florence with the Game7Athletics team.

This relay was a non-competitive 3×7 kilometers race, starting at 10:30 from the Visarno Hippodrome. Passing through the Parco delle Cascine, the course offered a beautiful landscape and ended back at the hippodrome.

Organized as a prelude to the Florence Marathon on November 24th, the event took place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, perfectly reflecting the spirit of a non-competitive race.

Before splitting into our teams, the Game7Athletics crew and I warmed up together. Running with Sara and Bijoux, my relay teammates, was a true pleasure. Both are accustomed to longer distances than I am, and sharing this experience with them was enriching from both a sporting and human perspective.

After the race, there was a symbolic award ceremony where all participants were recognized, followed by group photos with the team.

Later, the entire group moved to Piazza Duomo, where the Game7Athletics store is located. There, we enjoyed lunch and took part in an event focused on running shoes. The session was led by Daniele Vecchioni, who shared valuable tips on choosing the right shoes: picking the perfect size (neither too big nor too small), the importance of owning multiple pairs to rotate them for better durability, and more.

Before leaving, Daniele shared a piece of wisdom that resonates deeply with me: “Use running as a way to improve your life.”

It was a truly special day, where I had the chance to meet extraordinary people who share my same approach to sports. I return home enriched by new friendships and an incredible energy that will stay with me as I take my next steps.
